Hello Church Family!
This is Christmas week, the busiest time of year.
This is the time when we avoid shopping malls (unless you procrastinated), travel for all sorts of holiday events, and go back home to visit family.
My only words of wisdom this week are, clique as it sounds, remember the reason for the season.
At the Tilley household we have a tradition of having a birthday cake on Christmas night. No matter where we go, we come bearing a gift of jello cake (Ask my wife for the recipe, it is excellent).
Why a birthday cake? Because it is Jesus birthday.
Why jello cake? Because it's my favorite (Jesus doesn't seem to mind).
What are your Christmas traditions?
Do you open a present the night before?
Do you have a special dinner?
The next question should be, what do you do to remember Jesus on Christmas day?
Do you read the Christmas story as a family?
Do you sing carols?
Do you pray as a family?
This is the one time of year when Christians can get away with dropping Jesus name, praying out loud, and singing Christian songs without getting grumpy looks.
Embrace this time of year, enjoy the snow (hopefully), and glorify Jesus!
See you Sunday,
